Ali Akarsu is a sea captain that is constantly away from home, in Istanbul, Turkey. what keeps his family of four children together is his long time partner and wife Cemile. After a long voyage, Ali is to return home. Although everything is picture perfect on the surface Alis is perceived to be restless. His eldest son, Mete's, school problems arises a mask of fury which is relinquished in the house, not helping his relationship with Berrin, his first born,; but everything will irrevocably change after Cemile's discovers a letter written in another language in his jacket.
