Nighty Night is a British dark comedy sitcom written by and starring Julia Davis. It was first broadcast on 6 January 2004 on BBC Three before moving to BBC2. Notorious for its dark humour, the show follows narcissistic sociopath Jill Tyrell – who manages a beauty parlour alongside her moronic, asthmatic assistant Linda – as she learns that her husband has cancer. She uses this fact to manipulate new neighbour Cathy Cole, a wheelchair user with multiple sclerosis whose husband Don, a womanising doctor, Jill has become obsessed with.

Cath finally stands up to Jill and throws her out of their house. Jill carries on with her husband Terry's funeral, while he remains bored in the hospice. Jill persuades Glenn, her blind date, to pay for the buffet and disco.
Don and Cathy split up. Jill kills Terry, then forces Glenn to kill Gordon the vicar with a poisoned sundae and makes him confess to the police.
Jill decides to infiltrate Cath and Don's lives further by inviting Don over for dinner, but her plans for a romantic evening are thwarted when Cath decides to come along as well.
Jill Tyrell is picking up the pieces following the murders at the end of the last series. She's managed to frame ex-boyfriend, Glen Bulb, who is currently being treated at a mental institute.
