Yun Shim Duk's recording of "Death Song" became the first Korean pop song in 1926.

5 years later: Woo Jin is running his family business while Shim Deok is performing on a large stage for the first time. Remembering the promise he made her years ago, Woo Jin shows up at her performance and the two are brought back together again. They decide that they cannot hide their feelings any longer and that they will allow themselves to feel lingering emotions for one another and decide they can begin writing.
