The series focuses on the Vangenechten family of butchers. Business is going well until Rudy, the butcher couple's only son, suddenly returns home after years of absence. He refuses to say where he has been all this time, but he does want to come back home and work in the butcher shop.

André tries to get Luc on his side with a gift. Rudy's attempts to become a good butcher again are not very successful. Joepie, the family dog, allows Luc and Rudy to get to know a different side of André.
André and Liliane are both turning fifty. Rudy gives them a weekend at the sea as a gift, where they finally have to make some time for each other. In the meantime, he keeps the butcher's shop running with Anke, Mike and Luc.
One weekend a year, the 'real Vangenechten' tripe is available, a specialty for generations. Because of Maurice, not only the annual tripe fair, but also the survival of the butcher's shop is at risk.
JB, an old acquaintance of Rudy's, comes by. He doesn't seem to have any intention of leaving again. And Liliane finally takes some time for herself.
